Are you interested in learning Farsi also known as Persian? You should, as Persian is a language almost as beautiful as its region of origin – Iran. Unique, poetic, and influential, Persian opens the door to Middle Eastern cultures.
Persian has remained unchanged for centuries, which means you can experience world-famous Persian literature in the exact language it was written. The script is essentially the same as Arabic and similar to Urdu, making it easier to move to these two languages.

Pomegranate Institute offers you the opportunity to acquire and master the four skills, and a balance between communicative activities, structure practice, and grammar, from native experienced teachers. The materials used are broad-based and help students develop communication skills.

Studying Farsi provides an entry into a rich and diverse culture that produced major poets, exquisite miniature painting, and fine carpets. Persian speakers are already in high demand among US universities, consulting firms and other businesses.
Basic level is composed of Starter, A1.1, A1.2, A2.1 and A2.2 levels.
While starting your learning journey with Pomegranate you will receive a placement test which will determinate your language skills and your level.
By the end of the Basic Level you will be able to:
- Introduce yourself and the others
- Day to day conversation
- Talk about yourself, your family, friends and the others
- Ask and answer questions
- Write and understand messages involving prices, time, date and location
- Speak on various topics such as family, food, shopping, employment, city and local geography
- Communicate routine tasks requiring a direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters
- Understand and reply to most frequently used expressions related to different areas
You will cover:
- Present, future, past tenses
- Pronouns
- Question words
- Structures of sentences
- Possessives
- Adjectives
- Adverbs
- How to negate
- Articles
- Prepositions
- Imperative
- Time indicators
- Comparison
How long is the course?
- Each sub-level is of 30 hours in group, 22 hours in semi-private and 20 hours in private setting
Teaching and Learning Methods :
- Introduction of selected grammar points.
- The lessons are based on realistic conversations and task-based listening sections.
- Students develop reading fluency, accuracy, and comprehension by reading passages from a variety of sources such as newspapers, magazines, books, and websites.
- Students participate in a variety of activities during this class, including lectures, in-class exercises, weekly homework and quizzes, and group/pair work.
- Students are expected to complete weekly homework and quizzes.
Independent level is composed of B1.1, B1.2, B1.3, B1.4, B2.1, B2.2 and B2.3 levels.
While starting your learning journey with Pomegranate you will receive a placement test which will determinate your language skills and your level.
By the end of the Independent Level you will be able to:
- Converse independently on different topics (work, school, leisure, travel, technical discussions, specializations etc)
- Can deal with situations likely to arise whilst traveling
- Produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects
- Describe experience and events, dreams, feelings, ambitions etc
- Can understand complexes text or conversation on concrete or abstract topic
- Can interact spontaneously with native speakers without strain of either party
- Give a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options

- Which expressions
- Expressions of goal
- Time markers
- Expression of the necessity
- Structures to express the consequence
- Direct and indirect speech
- Future and past tenses
- Passive and active voice
- Expression of time, duration
- Subjunctive tense
- Conditional tense

- All grammar points taken during the previous levels
